Volunteering abroad

Concordia logo

Concordia is a small non-profit organisation whose aims are to bring people together from different countries to move towards the common goal of breaking down cultural stereotypes and promoting greater international understanding and peace.

Their International Volunteer Programme offers volunteers aged 18+ the opportunity to join international teams of volunteers working on short-term projects in over 60 countries worldwide. A variety of projects are available to teenagers aged 16 and 17. Types of international volunteer projects you can undertake include conservation, restoration, archaeology, construction, arts, children’s play-schemes and teaching.

Projects last for 2-4 weeks with the main season from June to September and smaller programmes available in winter & spring. Volunteers pay a registration fee of £150 and fund their own travel. Board and accommodation is free of charge. Concordia also sends volunteers on EVS (European Voluntary Service) – long term volunteering projects.
